Welcome To Our Home
Brandon House Care Home specialises in residential person centred and dementia care. This tranquil home is situated near to shops and the town and is within easy reach of public transport. Qualified carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find as trying times. Our home has been adapted to provide a warm and comfortable environment for each of our elderly residents. We are situated in a quiet area of Dorset and in private ownership. The property is tastefully decorated to provide that homely feel.
About Us
We provide person centred care. Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. We welcome residents who are privately financed and those funded by Dorset Local Authorities. Fees depend on the particular accommodation chosen and the care needs of the resident. Additional services requested by the resident or their nominated representative can be provided
Social Activities:
Are an important part of the daily life at our home. The Activities Organiser develops individual activity schedules tailored to the personal lives and interests of our residents. We provide a mix of weekly activities from entertainment to workshops, days out and social events.

Participation:
Participation is entirely voluntary and families can take part if they wish. To further improve their feeling of well-being we provide our residents with weekly visits from local hairdressers, chiropodists, and local religious leaders of all denominations.

From the moment I walked into Brandon House, I knew I had found a home where my mum would be happy. The welcome and support we both received made a stressful and difficult decision much easier. It is a safe environment and the overall feel to home is very friendly and relaxed and that is due to the fact they have a very strong and committed team. My mum has settled in well and all her needs are catered for by the genuinely wonderful staff

My partner's mother has been in Brandon House for 1 year. It is a really nice home, clean, staff are really friendly and very attentive towards all the residents. The food always looks good and there are plenty of staff. Also, there is always some kind of activity going on for the residents ie. singers, animals visiting the home which everyone seems to love. It's a pleasure to visit this home. Recently refurbished to a high standard. The gardens are lovely, seats outside and plenty of bird feeders

My mother has been in this care home on three occasions for respite. She has settled very well and has been happy and content each time. I am very pleased with the care given to her. The staff are all lovely and go the "extra mile" to make her stay enjoyable. I would recommend full-time care, be it on a temporary basis or permanent residence.

The residence is a homely comfortable place with a cheerful atmosphere. There is good access to a small back garden and a nearby park. My experience show that when ill, th3 residents receive quality care and the home had good relations with local doctors and nurses. Recently, and excellent hoist has been bought which facilitates the transfer of residents to and from chairs. The food is varied, nutritious and home-made and the dining toom is clean with attractive table settings. There are weekly activities for entertainment and a weekly hairdresser.

I cannot praise the Manager and her dedicated team of staff enough for the support they have given our family. Our Aunt had previously stayed at the Royal Court on two occasions in the last couple of years for convalescence following surgery, so it seemed the obvious place for the heartbreaking task of finding her a palliative care home for her last few weeks. Right from our early contact and requests for information, to a tour of the stunning care home itself, then help choosing the right room and organising the transfer; the team have been exemplary

My parents moved into Brandon House in April 2017 and from our initial approach to date we have experienced nothing but friendly professionalism from all involved. All staff did everything they could to reassure us as a family making them very welcome. The standard of care since from all the staff has proven impeccable. They both participate in a varied programme of activities both together and individually, as well as spending time together. The range of activities is frequent and varied including outings.

Home Dining
At Brandon House, we firmly believe that people ought to eat the food they enjoy. A dietician might pull their hair our but we continue to adhere to the view that the enjoyment of food takes preference over healthy eating though hopefully the two things are not always in opposition.
We give food a very high priority. The main reason is, that it is one pleasure we can all enjoy, and secondly we have found that older people, especially when alone, just can't be bothered to prepare food for themselves so eating an appetising range of food is a vital aspect of feeling better.
All meals are prepared in the modern kitchen using fresh ingredients. Special diets are catered for and residents suggestions regarding the variety of the menus are encouraged.
Meals may be taken our elegant dining room, or in the residents own room if preferred. We at Brandon House are exceedingly flexible and are more than happy to accommodate your routine. You may choose to continue your routine or adapt to life within our home.

The menus are varied on a daily basis and of course are different during the summer and winter periods.
Most meats and vegetables are locally and organically sourced and all of the eggs we use are free range. We make all our own cakes, puddings and pastries and have now added freshly made hot soups, served with oven baked rolls, all of which are homemade on the premises.
For prospective residents, we invite them and their relatives to come and have lunch with us and sample our wonderful cuisine.
